Easy Apple Tart with Caramel Sauce
Ingredients:
1. For the Crust:
• 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2. For the Filling:
• 2 large apples, thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
• 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
3. For the Topping:
• Caramel sauce, for drizzling
• Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
• Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
• On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to smooth any creases, then transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
• Score a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry without cutting all the way through. This will allow the edges to puff up during baking.
3. Make the Honey Cinnamon Butter:
• In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, honey, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Brush this mixture evenly over the puff pastry, staying within the scored border.
4. Prepare the Apples:
• In a large bowl, toss the thinly sliced apples with the lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until the apples are well coated.
5. Assemble the Tart:
• Arrange the apple slices in overlapping rows or in a spiral pattern within the scored border of the puff pastry.
• Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the apples.
6. Bake:
• Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.
7. Finish and Serve:
• Once out of the oven, drizzle the tart with caramel sauce and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
• Let the tart cool slightly before slicing and serving.
This easy Apple Tart is a delightful fall treat with its flaky crust, spiced apples, and a drizzle of caramel that brings all the flavors together beautifully!
