Ingredients:

4 cube steaks
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
2 cups milk (for gravy)
2 tbsp butter (for gravy)
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for gravy)
Salt and black pepper to taste (for gravy)

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the Bread Coating
In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2: Prepare the Wet Coating
In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.

Step 3: Coat the Steaks
Dip each cube steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the steak to ensure a good coating.

Step 4: Fry the Steaks
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the steaks from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Step 5: Make the Gravy
Pour off any excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 2 tbsp in the pan. Add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the 2 tbsp of flour, cooking for about 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 6: Serve
Serve the chicken fried steaks hot, topped with the creamy gravy. Enjoy with mashed potatoes and a side salad for a complete meal.
