Ingredients:

2 ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
3 garlic cloves, smashed
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 sprigs fresh thyme
Directions:

Step 1: Season the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Step 2: Preheat the Skillet
Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it’s very hot. Add the olive oil and heat until it starts to shimmer.

Step 3: Sear the Steaks
Carefully place the steaks in the hot skillet. Sear without moving them for about 3-4 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms. Flip the steaks and sear the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.

Step 4: Add Butter and Herbs
Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Tilt the skillet slightly and spoon the melted butter and herbs over the steaks. Continue basting for another 1-2 minutes for medium-rare or to your desired doneness.

Step 5: Rest and Serve
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
