Ingredients:

1. Meat

• 1 lb ground turkey (preferably lean)

2. Produce

• 1 small onion, finely chopped

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

• 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)

3. Baking & Spices

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

• 1/2 teaspoon paprika

• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

• 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

4. Bread & Baked Goods

• 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat for a healthier option)

5. Dairy

• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for added richness)

6. Eggs

• 1 large egg

7. Oils & Vinegars

• 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Prepare the Mixture:

• In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped basil, salt, black pepper, paprika, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).

• Add in the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan (if using), and the egg. Mix everything together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

3. Form the Meatballs:

• Using your hands or a scoop, form the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

4. Cook the Meatballs:

• You have two options:

1. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

2. Pan-fry: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and fully cooked, about 10-12 minutes.

5. Serve:

• Enjoy the turkey meatballs on their own, or pair them with your favorite sauce, pasta, or salad. They make a delicious and satisfying meal for any time of day!
